So, I’ve read that article the other day. It was about a woman who lives on a farm with sheeps and goats and she used to sell some of the little lambs and goatlings as Easter lambs because there was no need for keeping the male ones. The little feet of the babies were tied together so you could easily carry them just like a bag. Her customers grabbed them, threw them on their carts, trucks or in their trunks. As the babies lay there, they were looking back at the woman with eyes wide open, full of trust, confusion and fear. The trap closed, the cars were leaving the yard and the last thing the woman heard was the heartbreaking screams and yelling of the babies out of despair. While reading, I see stories like this like a movie in my mind and I’m standing right there next to everyone but I can’t intervene, nobody sees me, my voice is muted, unable to move & protect the baby lambs. Every time I’m reading stories like this, tears well up in my eyes instantly and it feels like someone is tearing my heart and soul into pieces like it was nothing. 💔🪓 And I wonder how stories like this can not affect some people. Are they even human? Or, are they just some poor creatures without a soul or just some NPCs? 🤖 I wonder in despair. ____________________ 📢 Thanks for reading this!! •| Tagebau ••• ( “open-cast mining”) Hallelujah 🙌 I finally did it. This was really challenging for me because it’s so different from what I’ve done before for my #symbiosis photo series!! So usually it’s a tiny human interacting with a big world made out of big flowers, plants, animals etc. & this time it’s the other way round 😅 But - I really felt I have to do this one because during my last road-trip I happened to come across a “communication tower” that was open for public so I could go all the way up to the upper level and “enjoy” the panorama view all over the open-cast mining area “Nochten” located near upper lusatia (#Oberlausitz). And everytime I see places like this- it really hurts my heart. I don’t know. This “landscape”… scenery just looks so… hurt & dry & destroyed & …dead. Scars and wounds just all over the surface. We cut deep. 🔪🩸 Just some words I wanted to get rid of.
